SimmStick 2000 Design Competition.
CONTEST RULES
1. Each project must be the original work and property of the person(s)
who submits it to SimmStick Design Contest 2000.
2. Projects shall be submitted in digital form in the English Language.
Each entrant must submit a completed entry form.
- Fill out the completed and signed entry form. You will be sent a
Project Number which you MUST use to identify your project.
- A faxed or mail a hard copy of the completed and SIGNED
entry form MUST be received by your participating dealer BEFORE your entry will be
accepted. NO signed entry form, NO entry accepted.
- The submitted designs must have been physically realised to be eligible and unless
images were supplied with the original entry any winning entrants will need to
supply photos or images in digital format of the project.
- A contestant may enter more than one project but must submit each as a
separate entry.
- A publishable abstract in Word, ASCII or HTML (approx. 500 words) and
block diagram (GIF or JPG) of the design, complete documentation of the project and its
operation, including software, schematics, photos, and diagrams. Source code should be
left in source code form together with programmable hex files.
- All should be zipped together with the Filename = <project
number.zip>.
The purpose of the SimmStick Design Contest 2000 is to promote and
publicise the flexibility and utility of SimmStick products. It is not intended as a
promotional avenue for commercial products. We will honour any request for anonymity.
However we will publish all entries as presented to us, with minor editorial changes as
required to maintain consistency. Therefore the onus is on the entrant to remove any
identifying material from their entries. Contestants who leave their names or any
identifying marks in headers, footers, table of contents pages, schematics, etc can expect
it to be published and agree to absolve the SimmStick Dealers from any responsibility or
liability for such publication.
3. All hardware must use one or a combination of the SimmStick products
with a processor or FPGA on board.
4. The contest entry must not be currently available as a
commercial product.
5. All entries must be received before
midnight (GMT) November 1, 2000. Entries received after this deadline or without a
completed and signed entry form will be deemed ineligible and will not be part of the
competition.
6. We encourage all contestants to seek patents for any unique or
proprietary aspects of the design prior to submission. All designs submitted remain the
intellectual property of the contestant. The contestant agrees to give the SimmStick
Dealers nonexclusive full-publication rights to all material submitted to the contest in
both physical and electronic form. The contestant agrees to let the SimmStick Dealers use
his name and/or likeness for any publicity or advertising purposes associated with the
contest.
7. All contestants must guarantee that they have the rights to the
project design and will indemnify the SimmStick Dealers against any legal action taken as
a result of their entry.

The contest judges have been chosen based on their familiarity with
engineering design, component familiarity, and experience. Winners will be chosen based on
all of the criteria given. All decisions made by the judges are final.
9. All prizes are as stated in the prize list
and are not negotiable.
10. Contest rules are subject to change. Check rules
update for the latest up to date information.
11. All correspondence concerning submissions for the contest should be

together with your allocated project number.
12. SimmStick dealers, employees and their immediate families are not
eligible for any prizes.
